I've been a big fan of Role Playing Games for the past 20 years (Roughly).

It all started, playing with a few of my friends in our own version of a Live Action Role Playing Game , pretending we were Swordsmen.

After that we discovered Dungeons and Dragons and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. I remember the first Boxed set I got, The Red Box Basic D&D rules. I had a lot of fun with that, writing adventures for my friends and getting as many different players as possible. I got the First Forgotten Realms box set in '86 and from there just kept my collection and games played growing.

From there i've branched out to WizKids/FanPro's Classic Battletech and Mechwarrior games, Palladium's Megaverse of Games, as well as trying to keep up to date with TSR Inc/ Wizards of the Coasts efforts with Dungeons and Dragons. I've also tried my hand at LARP again, playing in the Peterborough Vampire Larp game,Under the Clocktower. Vampire Larp's are run under the Minds Eye Theatre Rules by White Wolf Games I've also spent time playing West Ends Games, Twilight 2000 a game about playing in a post WWIII world.

I've trying to get some of the stuff I've created and worked on up here on the 'net but it's taking a bit of time. right now I'll just leave you with a rant about my thoughts on the 3rd Edition of the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons/Dungeons and Dragons game.

In a nutshell, It SUCKS!. I find that the game has been made to resemble a nintendo video game. One of the really cheesy video game ports from Japan, such as the Final Fantasy series. As you increase in levels you increase your attributes, the magic weapons have become staid and unimaginative, consisting of being 'of the light' or 'holy' . I think Wizards would be in their best interest to call this newly released game Dungeons and Dragons and continue to support 2nd Edition ADVANCED Dungeons and Dragons , as just that, an advanced game for advanced players that don't need to play a video game at a table. and don't get me started at the horrible covers of these new books. talk about cheesy.! want to refute this opinion?
